This theoretical time-dependent study examines how electrons transport through chiral1 molecules. In particular, we show that electrons with different spin2 states can transport through a chiral molecule at different speeds. In addition, we show that this difference in transport speed results in a magnetic field that is qualitatively consistent with a reference experiment.

  1. For visualization, a spring is one example of a chiral shape.

  2. Spin is a property that is intrinsic to particles like electrons.
